Catching gar has been our passion since the first lure made while on the water in an old 12' Jon Boat back in 1985. The idea of the lures stemmed from a gar being landed with a dip net and the hook falling out of the gar's mouth, but was difficult to pull the gar's teeth from the nylon netting. While gar are often difficult to catch by hook alone, our lures snag in the gar's teeth and the fight is on!
Find gar feeding or loafing in still or low current backwaters. Gar often pop the top of the water when good numbers are present. Present the Hookless lures on top or just below the surface as a bass lure would be presented. Bait Hook lures can be baited with anything a gar would eat, live or dead minnows work great! Baited lures work best with a float, but may be used on the bottom as well. The lures are designed to snag in the gar's teeth for a better catch probability!
